Canada: Legally grown cannabis can be safe, clean
---
Re: Grow-ops a downer for real estate agents, by Monte Stewart, Business
Edge, May 18, 2007, and online at www.businessedge.ca Brian Walker,
president of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA), asks: "Does
that mean that a house that had 10 plants growing in the basement will
be stigmatized? In some cases, it could have been the tenant running the
grow-op.
"Those are the cases where it's clear that the house speaks for itself.
There could have been no damage arising from that activity, so it does
seem unfair to stigmatize a property like that."
A very legitimate question and comment.
I know if the venting and electrical is done properly, property damage
can be non-existent.
I know a few people who are legally able to cultivate and consume
cannabis for (treatment of) medical ailments.
Their gardens were cleaner than my own home. They have told me they need
clean, quality cannabis, so cleanliness is a must.
One landlord knows about a legal medical cannabis garden in his property
and has visited it a number of times. The landlord has no problem with
it, due to the fact there is zero damage to the property and the tenant
is legal to cultivate medical cannabis plants. Rent is always paid on
time and the tenant never has created any problems for the landlord over
the years.
