UK: Cannabis campaigner faces imitation firearms charges

A Manchester cannabis campaigner who is said to be in "constant pain"
because of medical conditions has been remanded in custody after
appearing in court charged with possessing imitation firearms.
Police arrested Paul Farnhill, 44, after he was seen in his car in Great
George Street, 250 yards from the Prime Minister's residence in Downing
Street, central London.
Farnhill, a father-of-two and grandfather, of Hale, Trafford is accused
of having an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence,
having an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence,
making off without payment for petrol, and drink-driving.
Farnhill, who was allowed to sit throughout his hearing at City of
Westminster Magistrates' Court by District Judge Michael Snow because of
his medical condition, spoke only to confirm his name, address and date
of birth.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Southwark Crown Court on April 2.
